Most Sydney Writers' Festival venues are wheelchair accessible and some are fitted with hearing loops, as indicated in individual venue listings.

The following venues are fitted with a hearing loop system: Roslyn Packer Theatre, Wharf 2 Theatre, City Recital Hall, and Sydney Town Hall.

Auslan Interpreted Events

The following events in the 2017 Festival will be Auslan interpreted:

133 Thomas Friedman: The Case for Optimism
204 SWF Gala: Nasty Women

Auslan interpreting services will be offered for further selected events across the Festival, including CHI18 Kate DiCamillo: Connecting People through Stories on request.

A block of seats is reserved for deaf and hearing-impaired patrons to ensure a good view of the interpreter and the stage. If you wish to be seated in this area for these events, please email to book and request Auslan seating in the email.

Close Captioned Events

All events at City Recital Hall will be closed captioned. All events at the Roslyn Packer Theatre on 27 May and 28 May will be closed captioned.

Companion Cards

Companion Cards need to be booked via the phone or in person at each venue. Companion cards need to be sighted at time of collection.
