Yvonne Sewankambo

Yvonne Sewankambo is a Ugandan-Canadian-Australian author and communications director based in Sydney, Australia. At the heart of her writing is a belief in the power of stories to build connection, deepen cross-cultural understanding and contribute to positive change. Her picture books include Good Hair and How My Family Says I Love You, which were recognised in the Children’s Book Council of Australia 2025 and 2026 Notables lists for Early Childhood and Picture Book of the Year respectively. Her latest picture book Where Am I From? will be published in July 2026. As part of The Observership Program in Australia, Yvonne is also serving as the 2026 Board Observer of The Stella Prize Inc.
