Tony Tan describes his earliest, formative food education as an explosion of flavours and ideas akin to a culinary tsunami. Tony grew up in Malaysia and emigrated to Australia with his family in the 70s. Tony has spent multiple decades in Australia, and abroad, has studied history, language and food, opened his own restaurants and ran cooking schools and food tours. He lives in Trentham Victoria, where he runs his cooking school. In October 2024, he published his second cookbook, Tony Tan’s Asian Cooking Class.
