Sandra Steffensen

Sandra Steffensen is an artist and educator with deep cultural roots through her maternal grandmother from the Tagalaka people of the Gulf Country in North Queensland. With over two decades of experience teaching Senior Visual Arts and developing online curricula, she centres Indigenous knowledge as a transformative force in education. In collaboration with her brother, Victor Steffensen, she illustrates children's books such as Looking After Country with Fire, The Trees and Animals on Country celebrating storytelling, connection to Country and community.
