Mariana Enriquez was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1973. She is the author of the novel Our Share of Night, the collections of short fiction, Things We Lost in the Fire, A Sunny Place for Shady People and The Dangers of Smoking in Bed (shortlisted for the International Booker Prize) and she works as a journalist. In Spanish, she has eight books yet to be translated. She was awarded the Premio Iberoamericano de Letras José Donoso in 2024.
