Fiona Murphy is an award-winning writer based in the Blue Mountains, NSW. Her work has appeared in The Guardian, ABC, The Saturday PaperGriffith Review and The Big Issue. Fiona’s memoir, The Shape of Sound, explores her experiences with deafness and disability. It was highly commended in the 2022 Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards. In 2024, Fiona was awarded the Peter Blazey Fellowship. She is currently working on several fiction and non-fiction projects.
