Debbie Whitmont is a former ABC Middle East correspondent and has won two Walkley Awards and three Human Rights TV awards for her reporting on the ABC's Four Corners. Her book, The Man Who Couldn't Wait: the true story of Australia's first political assassination, is published by Allen & Unwin.
