Catherine Chidgey is "one of New Zealand's greatest living writers" (Radio NZ), winning Best First Book at the New Zealand Book Awards and the Commonwealth Writers' Prize (South-East Asia/South Pacific). She is the only person to have won the Jann Medlicott Acorn Prize for Fiction twice (for The Wish Child and The Axeman's Carnival). Remote Sympathy was shortlisted for the Dublin Literary Award and longlisted for the Women's Prize. Her latest novel The Book of Guilt is a compelling work of dystopian fiction.
