Aunty Barbara Nicholson

Aunty Barbara Nicholson is a Wadi Wadi Elder from the Illawarra who holds a degree in English Literature (Newcastle) and an Honorary Doctorate of Laws (UoW). She directs the Ngana Barangarai (Black Wallaby) project which has collected and published writing from First Australian inmates in Junee Correctional Centre for the last eleven years. This year she has also overseen the programme’s introduction into Dillwynia Correctional Centre, a gaol for women.
