Anney Bounpraseuth

Anney Bounpraseuth is an Australian-born artist of Lao heritage. As an ex-Jehovah’s Witness for 10 years, Anney’s practice counteracts negative representations of a godless life by visualising post-traumatic growth from religious trauma in works depicting paradise now. Since 2001 she has exhibited in galleries across NSW with solo shows at Fairfield City Museum and Art Gallery and Bankstown Arts Centre, with work held in local and international private collections. Anney holds a Diploma of Fine Arts at Campbelltown TAFE and a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the College of Fine Arts with Honours. Anney is a resident artist with Parramatta Artists’ Studios Granville.
