Festival books we can't stop thinking about

Another year, another Festival over and another heap of books added to our "Best of 2025" lists. While we're still holding onto that lingering Festival glow, we've reflected on some of the books that we just can't stop thinking about.

Vivienne, Digital Marketing Coordinator – Glorious Exploits by Ferdia Lennon

This tragicomedy about Greek poetry and prisoners of war in ancient Syracuse captured the office's imagination. It's a masterful exploration of art and brotherhood in the bleakest of moments – up there with my all-time favourites.

Julia, Marketing Coordinator – All I Ever Wanted Was to Be Hot by Lucinda Price

I was really struck by Lucinda Price's transparency in this memoir about striving to achieve unrealistic beauty expectations, often at the detriment of our health and happiness. There's a lot to recognise and commiserate within these pages.

Gavin, Ticketing Supervisor – A Sunny Place for Shady People by Mariana Enriquez

These haunting short stories set around the suburbs of Buenos Aires are deliciously naughty. Think camp, unexpected and spine-tingling.

Jen, Digital Marketing Manager – The Safekeep by Yael van der Wouden

I was blown away by the strength of this debut novel. Well-crafted story, beautiful language and some steaminess? I can't wait to pick up whatever Yael publishes next.

Connor, Philanthropy and Partnerships Coordinator – A Language of Limbs by Dylin Hardcastle

Still thinking about A Language of Limbs and its lyrical poetry embedded within a heart-breaking historically real yet vibey display of queer love, loss and discovery.

Sarah, Head of Marketing and Digital – Orbital by Samantha Harvey

I really loved this beautiful, concise and moving book, especially as it's not what I'd typically read because I am usually a plot-based reader.
