In the past 12 months, three of Sweatshop’s most captivating writers released their debut novels: Dirt Poor Islanders by Tongan-Australian author Winnie Dunn, Funny Ethnics by Vietnamese-Australian author Shirley Le and Songs for the Dead and the Living by Palestinian Australian author Sara M Saleh.

Winnie, Shirley and Sara discuss their incredible journeys from their beginnings as emerging grassroots writers to their debuts as nationally celebrated authors, with Sweatshop founding director Michael Mohammed Ahmad.
