Placing in the top 20 of the ABC Radio National’s Top 100 Books of the 21st Century countdown, 10 years after its publication, Bruce Pascoe’s Dark Emu has had incredible lasting resonance for readers.

With Dark Emu being one of only three books by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander writers on the list, writer and academic Melanie Saward wrote a response list of her top books by Indigenous authors that should have been included.
