Homegrown

Everything you need to know before you join us at Homegrown

Our brand-new Homegrown program is bringing some of the most celebrated contemporary writers from Australia and beyond to Sydney for free conversations, panels and workshops at the State Library of NSW in September and October.

Ticketing

If an event is booked out online there will be a limited number of tickets available at the door.

Please note, all advance tickets must be scanned 10 minutes before the event starts to guarantee a seat. If arriving after this time you cannot be guaranteed entry and will be admitted on a first come first served basis.

Visiting the Library

Get familiar with the best ways to travel to the State Library of NSW via its website. Acquaint yourself using our map and allow ample time as events take place across multiple levels.

Food and drink

All that thinking is thirsty work! Visit the Library Café during the day and visit a pop-up bar in the Glasshouse pouring wines and serving light refreshments in the evening.

Monday–Friday: 8am–5pm
Weekends: 9.30am–5pm

Friday 18 September: 4.45–5.45pm, 6.30pm – 7.30pm
Saturday 19 September: 3–4pm, 5–6pm, 6.30–7.30pm

Friday 9 October: 5–6pm, 6.30–7.30pm
Saturday 10 October:  3–4pm, 4.30–5.30pm
Sunday 11 October: 4–5pm, 5.30–6.30pm

Meet the authors

Visit the Glasshouse Foyer to explore the pop-up bookshop and get your books signed. Book signings occur immediately after each session.

What to bring

If you have tickets to a workshop, please bring writing materials. Specific workshop preparations have been communicated to ticket holders.
