In a forest in northern Oslo, Norway, a library is growing.
Twelve years ago, Scottish artist Katie Paterson began Future Library, an art installation where a thousand trees were planted and will grow for 100 years. Every year, Future Library invites a writer to submit a manuscript that will remain unpublished until 2114, when the forest of trees will be harvested to print the manuscripts.
In this panel discussion, the Future Library Trust Chair Anne Beate Hovind and the twelfth author selected for the project Amitav Ghosh reflect on this ode to the passage of time. With Ashley Hay.
