Join acclaimed author Kristin Darell for this hands-on writing workshop on building character and sparking stories at the State Library of NSW.
Acclaimed children’s author Kristin Darell will lead young writers to create a character and use their five senses to spark a new story idea. Following prompts and a step-by-step process, students will go on a journey of discovery, gathering all they need to solve their ultimate character equation. They’ll then have a chance to bring the start of the story to life — through writing, illustrating or both. Kristin’s simple formula makes the art of story creation fun, accessible, and something all kids can enjoy. Kristin’s latest series is It’s Twin a Thing based on her own experience as a twin. Her other series include Taronga Presents and Football Fever. Come discover Kristin’s approach to writing.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
