PITCH BLAK with Blak & Bright

Event update: Unfortunately, our Pitch Blak event won’t be going ahead at this year’s Sydney Writers’ Festival. While we’re disappointed not to bring it to Warrang just yet, we’re grateful to everyone who registered and showed interest. We’re hopeful we’ll see Pitch Blak on Gadigal Country soon, when the moment is right.

The good news is, we’re still in the mix. Join us for The Bogong: Now is the Hour at Carriageworks on Thursday 22 May. Tickets are available now and we’d love to see you there.
Pitch Blak is at Sydney Writers' Festival – and you’re invited!

Are you a First Nations writer ready to take your work to the next level? Pitch Blak is your chance to connect directly with leading publishers, industry pros and creative changemakers.

This one-of-a-kind professional development initiative is designed to support First Nations storytellers of all genres and at all stages of their writing journey. Whether you’re just starting out or already published, Pitch Blak creates a rare and welcoming space to introduce yourself and your work, gain insider knowledge and build real relationships with real people across publishing and beyond.

Since launching in Naarm (Melbourne) in 2016 and expanding to Tarndanya (Adelaide) in 2024, Pitch Blak has featured deadly names like Magabala Books, Black Inc., Allen & Unwin, Hachette, Hardie Grant, HarperCollins, Penguin Random House, Text and UQP, plus influential voices from film and the arts sector.

Don’t miss this opportunity to be seen, heard and supported.
