Each May, Sydney Writers’ Festival presents a week-long celebration of literature and ideas for students. Featuring three unique programs designed to encourage a love of reading and writing, our Education stream provides students with the opportunity to engage with ideas outside the traditional classroom setting.
The Primary School Days and Secondary School Days programs bring together prominent authors and illustrators for a fun, interactive and educational day that inspires students to discuss books and creativity.
In partnership with the NSW Educational Standards Authority, Sydney Writers' Festival has created Student Sessions, an ideas-packed program designed to stimulate enquiring minds while covering a range of thought-provoking topics linked to the NSW school curriculum. Student Sessions gives secondary school students rare access to some of the biggest stars on the Festival program, including acclaimed writers, social commentators and the world’s keenest thought-leaders.
In term four of the school year, Sydney Writers’ Festival presents the Children's Festival of Moving Stories. Details and bookings will be announced in September.
