The Sydney Writers’ Festival internship program is designed to facilitate learning within a collaborative office environment, as well as to offer practical experience working on a large-scale festival event. 

Each role has been designed according to specific learning outcomes. The internship program also provides valuable opportunities for students to network with professionals in Sydney’s thriving arts and cultural events industry.  

Podcasting Internship

The 2026 Sydney Writers’ Festival Podcasting Interns will undertake a variety of practical activities directly contributing to audio-media needs of the Festival. Successful applicants will learn about live event audio capture, data transfer and file management workflows, basic Digital Audio Workstation editing and help facilitate the smooth administration of all recorded events over the Festival’s key dates (18–24 May 2026).

Videography Internship

The 2026 Sydney Writers’ Festival Videography Interns will undertake a variety of practical activities directly contributing to video-media needs of the Festival. Successful applicants will learn skills in recording and interviewing, help with equipment and assist the Videographer over the Festival key dates (18–24 May 2026).
