Live & Local
Sydney Writers’ Festival is Australia’s largest forum celebrating books and ideas in the southern hemisphere. The Festival will bring the world’s finest authors and esteemed thinkers to local areas in real-time through the Live & Local project.
This year Sydney Writers’ Festival will once again livestream events from the festival that are then presented locally by partner organisations. This partnership provides access to new ideas from great minds, and the opportunity to participate in live Q&A sessions for national audiences.
When the program was piloted in 2015, Live & Local partnered with just 10 streaming partners across NSW. In 2021, we are proud to have 54 partners on board from every state and territory in Australia, spanning locations such as Broome, Broken Hill and Launceston. Find participating venues at the bottom of this page.
Being so remote from the capital city of Western Australia, it gives an option to attend and be a part of the Festival. Attendees stayed between sessions and chatted, had a cup of coffee and made valuable social links in the community.
The below Sydney Writers’ Festival highlights are being streamed live Australia-wide.
