Before becoming a fantasy novelist, Shelley Parker-Chan was an international development adviser who worked on human rights, gender equality and LGBTQ+ rights in Southeast Asia. Since then, their Sunday Times and USA Today bestselling historical fantasy novels have been translated into 15 languages and been awarded the Astounding Award for Best Debut and the British Fantasy Awards for Best Fantasy Novel and Best Newcomer.

General Manager of Sweatshop Literacy Movement, Winnie Dunn is a Tongan-Australian writer from Mount Druitt. Her debut novel, Dirt Poor Islanders, follows Meadow Reed as she navigates identity and community within Western Sydney.

Balli Kaur Jaswal is the author of five novels, including the internationally bestselling Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows. She was named a Best Young Australian Novelist by The Sydney Morning Herald and shortlisted for the Singapore Literature Prize. Her latest novel, Now You See Us, was released last year.

Associate Professor of philosophy at Cornell University, Kate Manne has been described as "philosopher of the #MeToo movement" for her scholarship on themes of misogyny and violence towards women in our contemporary world. Her newest book, Unshrinking: How to Fight Fatphobia, unpicks the dangerous virtues associated with dieting and deprivation, using a blend of first-hand stories and trenchant analysis.

Yumna Kassab is a writer based in Sydney. She is the author of The House of Youssef, Australiana and The Lovers. Her books have been listed for the Miles Franklin Award, Stella Prize, Victorian Premier's Literary Awards, Prime Minister's Literary Award, Queensland Literary Awards and NSW Premier's Literary Awards. She is the inaugural Parramatta Laureate of Literature.
