Peter FitzSimons
Peter FitzSimons AM is Australia's bestselling non-fiction author and biographer, while also writing columns for the Sydney Morning Herald and Sun-Herald. He has played rugby for Australia and written 20 books, including a biography of former Leader of the Opposition, Kim Beazley. In 2001 he released biographies of both John Eales and Australia's most decorated war heroine, Nancy Wake, which stayed on the bestseller lists for 29 weeks between them, and have sold 220,000 copies to date. In 2003 he released his book on the Kokoda Track, which was Australia's number one selling nonfiction book of the year, and followed that up with Tobruk in 2006. In 2007 he was the Books Alive author with his biography of Les Darcy. In May 2009, Prime Minister Kevin Rudd launched Peter’s latest book, Charles Kingsford Smith And Those Magnificent Men ... 
 
Guy Hedley
Guy is an Executive Director of Macquarie Group and is responsible for the Private Bank. Guy has been in high value private client financial advisory services for over 25 years, including establishing and managing the New Zealand retail operations of JB Were, managing the retail equities business for BNP Paribas in Australia and then developing the private bank capability for Macquarie throughout Australia and Asia.
 
Elizabeth Johnstone
Elizabeth is a recently retired corporate partner and now consultant with Blake Dawson lawyers. Her practice focused on company law and governance. She is also a member of the Royal Flying Doctor Service, Macquarie University Hospital and Auditing and Assurance Standards Boards. Elizabeth coordinates Blake Dawson's Boardroom Engagement program, is involved with the Blake Dawson Business Writing prize and is the Blake Dawson CEDA Trustee. For 10 years she served on the Australian Press Council and in a previous life taught literature.
 
David Marr
David Marr writes on politics, law and the arts for the Sydney Morning Herald. He has presented Media Watch and Arts Today for the ABC, edited The National Times, judged the Miles Franklin Award and was a founding member of Watch on Censorship. His books include a life of Patrick White; Dark Victory written with his colleague Marian Wilkinson; and The Henson Case.
 
Tim Peach
Tim Peach has been a bookseller for over 30 years and has run shops in Sydney, Adelaide, Fremantle, Newcastle and Parramatta. He has been active in the retail book industry at both a state and federal level. His past service on the executive of the Australian Booksellers Association included a term as president. In 1988 Tim established a specialist Australiana bookshop, The Library Shop, for the State Library of NSW. He continues to run that shop and in his position as Merchandising Manager he oversees a range of commercial activities for the State Library.
 
Margaret Seale
Margaret Seale is Managing Director of Random House Australia.  Since joining RHA her role has been expanded to include responsibility for the company’s New Zealand operation and in 2010 she was appointed President, Asia Development on behalf of Random House worldwide.  Margie is also Vice President of the Australian Publishing Association.
 
Professor Peter Shergold AC
Peter Shergold was a CEO in the Australian Public Service for two decades.  For five years from February 2003, he was Australia’s most senior public administrator, serving as Secretary of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.  Since early 2008, Dr Shergold has been the Macquarie Group Foundation Professor at the Centre for Social Impact.  He is Chair of the National Centre for Vocational Education Research, a non-executive Director of AMP Ltd, a board member of Corrs Chambers Westgarth, a Director of the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence and the General Sir John Monash Foundation, and the Chairperson of a small venture capital start-up, QuintessenceLabs.  Dr Shergold is also currently Chancellor of the University of Western Sydney.
 
Deena Shiff - Chair
Deena Shiff is Group Managing Director of Telstra Applications and Ventures Group and has held a number of senior executive positions in Telstra. Deena has been a partner at Mallesons Stephen Jacques and has held a number of non executive director positions.
 
Annette Shun Wah
Annette Shun Wah is an author, actor and broadcaster. She has produced and presented numerous television programs for ABC and SBS. Co-author of the award-winning Banquet – Ten Courses to Harmony, she has been published in Meanjin, Life Writing, and the anthologies Grandma Magic, Growing up Asian in Australia, Come Away With Me and Family Journeys. Annette serves on the board of Performance 4a which administers the Asian-Australian Performance Directory, and the Performing Arts and Arts Management Committee of Asialink. Annette is also co-founder of Bookmark Media, which produces digital book trailers.
