Nicole Mockler is an Associate Professor of Education at the University of Sydney. An ex-secondary History and English teacher and school leader, she researches how Australian teachers’ work is increasingly impacted and shaped by factors not of their making, often fuelled by the global education reform agenda. She is currently working on her 15th book, which traces media representations of teachers in the Australian print media from 1998 to 2018. Most of her best friends are teachers.
