Nicholas Cowdery AO QC has spent 50 years in criminal justice in various capacities, as a public defender, a barrister, an acting judge and for 16½ years as director of public prosecutions for NSW. He is a former president of the International Association of Prosecutors. He is an Adjunct Professor of Law and a Visiting Professorial Fellow at universities in NSW. He is President of the NSW Council for Civil Liberties and campaigns for criminal law reform.
