Indian born and Aussie bred, Mithila Gupta started her screenwriting career in the story room at Neighbours, where she introduced an Indian family to the regular cast of Ramsay Street. She has also written for BUMP (Stan), Five Bedrooms (Ten, Peacock and BBC One), Aquarius Films’ The Unlisted (ABC & Netflix), Doctor, Doctor/The Heart Guy (Nine), The Heights (ABC), Playing For Keeps (Ten), Winners and Losers (Seven), Home and Away (Seven), Trip for Biscuits (ABC), and Toybox (Seven). Mithila's colourful slate of original ideas includes an Aussie-Bollywood feature film Salsa Masala. Mithila is also developing a number of television projects for the global market with a specific focus on India including the crime thriller THUGSwith Easy Tiger and Fremantle. Mithila is a founding member of the Australian Writers’ Guild’s first ever Diversity and Inclusion committee.
