Mervyn King was Governor of the Bank of England from 2003 to 2013 and is currently Professor of Economics and Law at New York University and Emeritus Professor of Economics at the London School of Economics. Lord King was made a life peer in 2013 and appointed by the Queen a Knight of the Garter in 2014. He is the author of The End of Alchemy: Money, Banking and the Future of the Global Economy and his most recent book is Radical Uncertainty: Decision-making for an unknowable future written with John Kay. He was President of Worcestershire County Cricket Club and a Trustee of the National Gallery in London.
