Travelling to Wollongong Art Gallery
The Wollongong City Gallery is at the corner of Kembla and Burelli Streets in the Wollongong CBD.
Public Transport
The Gallery is a 10 minute walk from Wollongong Train Station and is serviced by a range of buses as well as the free Gong Shuttle Bus service.
Driving from Sydney
After the freeway, come down the mountain on Mount Ousley Road, and immediately turn off the freeway into Wollongong. Go straight ahead and follow the sign to Wollongong after the safety ramp. (The freeway veers right to Nowra - you go straight ahead down a comparatively small road towards the sea).
At the end of this road, turn right at the roundabout and go through the next four sets of traffic lights. At the fifth set of lights, turn left into Bourke Street (there is a car dealership on the corner, and a blue signpost, ‘Art Gallery’).
At the first traffic lights, turn right onto Corrimal Street (which also has a sign, ‘Art Gallery’). The Gallery is on Burelli Street (on the corner of Kembla Street), five sets of lights along Corrimal Street.
Parking
For free parking in the Council building, rather than turning onto Burelli Street, turn right at the sixth set of lights on Corrimal Street onto Stewart Street. The entry to the parking station is almost immediately on your right. On-street parking is also available in the area surrounding the Gallery, but time limits do apply.
Metered parking is available on Steward Street and surrounding streets.
