Travelling to the State Library of NSW


The Mitchell Reading Room is located in the Mitchell Building, which is the original sandstone section of the Library. The Mitchell Wing is situated on the corner of Macquarie Street and the Eastern Distributor, opposite the Royal Botanical Gardens.

Public Transport


Train
The closest train stations are Martin Place and St James. Circular Quay is only a short walk away.

Bus
The Sydney Explorer bus stops outside the Library on Macquarie Street.

Parking


The nearest parking station is Sydney Hospital, located on Hospital Road.

If you have a Mobility Parking sticker, you can use the parking spaces at Shakespeare Place, on the corner of Macquarie Street and the Cahill Expressway.
