By train and bus

The Powerhouse Ultimo is located close to Darling Harbour, Chinatown, Central Station (Sydney Terminal), Broadway bus station (Railway Square), and Exhibition Centre Sydney Light Rail Station. Entry is via Harris St only.

The Goods Line provides an accessible pedestrian route from Central Station, past the iconic Dr Chau Chak Wing Building designed by Frank Gehry. The Goods Line is a 500m walk along flat terrain starting from the Devonshire Street Tunnel at Central Station’s Southern Concourse.

The 501 bus stops directly outside the Museum.

PARKING

There is limited metered street parking near the museum, located on Harris St, Macarthur St and adjacent streets.

Discounted parking

Wilson Parking 179 Thomas Street, Haymarket (adjacent to Novotel Sydney Central). Discounted parking is obtained by ticket upon entry to the carpark – not available via online bookings. Parking tickets must be validated at the designated machines in the box office area of Powerhouse Ultimo (level 3) before returning to the car park. Note: Discount does not apply to the nearby Wilson Parking station at 187 Thomas Street.

First Parking Darling Square (accessed via Zollner Circuit). Book and pay online ahead of your arrival.
