How to join
You can become a dialogue Patron with an annual donation of $500, with the option to pay in monthly instalments of $42. All donations are tax deductible.
As a not-for-profit organisation, philanthropy is critical to the existence of Sydney Writers’ Festival. As we look to the future, we hope that our dialogue Patrons will become a foundation of support for the Festival for years to come.

From Sydney Writers’ Festival, dialogue treats conversation like a literary art form, driven by the desire to foster great storytelling and a dynamic exchange of ideas.
In the company of imaginative and intelligent writers and thinkers, dialogue presents agenda-setting talks and thought-provoking discussions on the issues that matter – from politics, journalism and the arts to pop culture and the natural world. The program of events is curated by the dialogue Writers in Residence – two are engaged each year and are supported by members. The program is also guided by a committee of innovative and vibrant young philanthropists.
As a member of dialogue, you will have exclusive access to hear from some of Australia’s best writers and thinkers as they share their expertise, ideas and wildest imaginings. Each talk is a unique interrogation of an important idea, hosted at an exciting venue, where members will be challenged, entertained, and invited into a rich and emboldening discussion.
You will also have the opportunity to network in a circle of avid readers and lovers of the arts, passionate about championing writers and playing a vital role in shaping the future of the Festival.
Creative Partnerships Australia & dialogue
dialogue’s circle of emerging philanthropists support the presentation of emerging writers at the Sydney Writers’ Festival. For debut authors, the opportunity to share their work with readers at Sydney Writers’ Festival can be a career-transforming experience. dialogue Patrons play their part in supporting the careers of emerging writers by supporting the Festival’s various emerging writer programs, including the 2022 SWF Debutante Ball.
Creative Partnerships Australia’s Plus1 program has pledged to match all dialogue support received before 31 May 2022, up to $25,000. This means that your contribution to dialogue has double the impact in supporting the Sydney Writers’ Festival's presentation of emerging writers.
