What does it take to get your book written? Then published?

Co-host of The First Time podcast, Kate Mildenhall, talks to debut writers James Colley and Melanie Saward and writer (and one-time podcast ‘Agony Aunt’) Charlotte Wood about the highs and lows of the writing life.

The First Time podcast began life in 2018 when debut novelists Kate Mildenhall and Katherine Collette began interviewing authors about the first time they had published a book. Since then over 250 authors have been featured, including industry icons Helen Garner, Tim Winton, Kim Scott, Richard Flanagan, Christos Tsiolkas, Tony Birch, Cate Kennedy, Chloe Hooper along with international authors Sarah Winman, George Saunders, Ling Ma and Behrouz Boochani.
