Primary School Days 2021
An engaging and educational journey into the world of literature
Through careful curation, Sydney Writers’ Festival’s Primary School Days program is designed to nurture the next generation of readers and storytellers. Our popular sessions bring together prominent children’s authors and young readers for a fun, interactive and educational day that inspires a deeper enjoyment of books and reading.
During four 45-minute sessions, writers and illustrators perform from their work, talk about their craft and take questions from the students.
We can't wait to welcome your students to Primary School Days next year. They'll join Australia's most exciting literary talents for children for this magical day celebrating storytelling and creativity. For the first time, we are also bringing Primary School Days to The Concourse Concert Hall, Chatswood.
We are excited to share with you the authors joining us for Primary School Days 2021. The exceptional line-up features the fantasy writer behind the record-breaking and New York Times bestselling Nevermoor series, Jessica Townsend; current NSW Aboriginal Woman of the Year, award-winning poet, author, artist and teacher, Kirli Saunders; much-loved children’s author and five-time Children's Book Council of Australia Book of the Year Award-winner, Emily Rodda; and the impressive (and hilarious) creative duo behind the popular Real Pigeons series, Andrew McDonald and Ben Wood.
The Primary Schools Days program is suitable for all school children in grades 3 to 6.
Signed books by featured authors will be available for purchase on the day.
