Sydney Writers’ Festival is a week-long conversation, and many of this year’s rich discussions will be framed around the theme of Power. Right across the Festival program, we’ll explore Power and its adjacent qualities – and its relationship to sex, money, politics and identity. We’ll be making a firm case for literature, stories and public conversation helping resist the pull of a backward-lurching culture.

From 30 April to 6 May, hundreds of the world’s most exciting writers – from established and emerging novelists, podcasters and cutting-edge non-fiction authors, to some of the world’s leading public intellectuals, scientists and journalists – will gather in Sydney.

Join us to discuss The Year of Power at our Festival hub, Carriageworks, and at venues across the city.
