Bestselling children’s author Morris Gleitzman introduces his latest characters and the fascinating, unpredictable, exciting, mysterious, funny, shocking, unique, heartwarming, scary, friendly and dangerous worlds they live in.

10.45AM: WRITING AND ILLUSTRATING WITH CHRIS RIDDELL

Join the UK Children’s Laureate (2015–17) Chris Riddell as he describes his journey to becoming one of England’s most legendary authors and illustrators. Chris reveals the secrets behind writing and illustrating his popular Goth Girl and Ottoline series as well as what it is like to work with renowned authors such as Neil Gaiman. Most importantly, find out why you should draw every day.

11.30AM Lunch Break and Book Signings

12.30PM: DAYDREAMING AND GIGGLING ALLOWED

Award-winning Australian author Katrina Nannestad has a passion for stories with laughter and heart. Katrina reveals the inspiration behind her colourful settings and the quirky characters that inhabit them, and explains why writing a story might be the best fun you ever have.

1.15PM NOT MAKING SENSE

A.F. Harrold is an English poet and writer who makes people – especially children – laugh. Join him for poems, stories and comedy in this highly interactive and silly session. Expect the unexpected (although if you’re expecting it then it’s no longer unexpected).
