Explore place, identity and queerness with author George Haddad. In this workshop, participants will be guided to write a short (1,000 word) memoir that is connected to a place or object.

In 2016 George Haddad won the Viva la Novella prize for Populate and Perish and in 2018 he won the Neilma Sidney prize for his short story ‘Kátharsis’. George is a doctoral candidate and sessional tutor at the Writing and Society Research Centre, Western Sydney University. His new novel Losing Face is published in May.

Sydney Writers' Festival sponsors one place per workshop for attendees who may not otherwise be able to participate. Please apply via this online form. Applications close Monday 9 May. Those selected will be notified by email from Tuesday 10 May.
