Master theme, delve into symbolism and render vivid imagery with your prose. In this half-day course, Stella Prize–winner Emily Bitto guides you to explore how the ‘big ideas’ that preoccupy your writing can be used to take a creative project to the next level. Ideally suited to writers who have a project on the go (no matter how big or small), this workshop is an opportunity to discover how themes translate into symbolism and imagery and how to produce more complex and sophisticated writing.
Emily Bitto is a Melbourne-based writer of fiction, poetry and non-fiction. She has a Masters in Literary Studies and a PhD in Creative Writing from the University of Melbourne. Her debut novel, The Strays, won the 2015 Stella Prize and her most recent novel is Wild Abandon.
