In ‘The Afghan Files’, Dan Oakes, senior reporter with the ABC Investigations team, exposed serious allegations of war crimes committed by Australian special forces in Afghanistan. Dan and Editor of The Saturday Paper Maddison Connaughton explore the concept of ‘freedom to read, freedom to write, freedom to speak’ in this instalment of Sydney PEN’s Free Voices series. They discuss the ongoing threats to press freedom and what we as citizens can do to fight back.
This event is a fundraiser for Sydney PEN. A share of each ticket price goes directly to PEN International’s work.
