Osman Faruqi (Australian)
Osman Faruqi is the editor of 7am, Schwartz Media’s daily news podcast. He was previously the deputy editor of ABC Life and an award-winning reporter with the ABC’s flagship audio documentary program, Background Briefing. He presents on The Mix, the ABC’s arts and culture TV program, and was formerly Junkee Media’s news and politics editor. He has judged the Walkley Awards and the NSW Premier’s Literary Awards and sat on the Board of FBi Radio. He’s currently writing a book about race relations in Australia, due out in 2021.
Matt Okine (Australian)
Multi-talented actor, writer and presenter, Matt Okine, is one of Australia's favourite award-winning comedians. Okine spent three years co-hosting Triple J's hugely successful Breakfast Show before going into production on the television adaption of his award-winning semi-autobiographical stand up show The Other Guy for Stan. His debut novel, Being Black ’n Chicken, & Chips, is a heart-warming coming-of-age story based on his 2012 live show, which earned him the Best Newcomer Award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Rita Therese (Australian)
Rita Therese is a writer and sex worker from Melbourne and the author of Come: A Memoir. She began her writing career when she joined the sex industry at 18. She is also the author of a series of zines chronicling her journey as a sex worker.
Jan Fran (Australian)
Jan Fran is an Australian Walkley Award–winning journalist and social commentator. She is the writer and creator of the viral internet opinion segment The Frant and is also known for her work on The Feed on SBSVICELAND, The Project on Network Ten and the ABC podcast, The Pineapple Project. Jan Fran has shot and produced documentaries from all over the world and appears regularly on Australian television as a social commentator. She is an ambassador for Plan International Australia where she advocates for women and girls. Her strong reporting on women’s issues earned her a 2018 Walkley nomination for Women’s Leadership in Media. Her memoir Of Middle Eastern Appearance will be published in 2021.
Sarah Macdonald (Australian)
Sarah Macdonald is a broadcaster and writer. She currently presents The Evening Show on ABC Radio Sydney, NSW and Canberra. Her best selling travel memoir Holy Cow has been translated into several languages and is still one of the travel bibles of India. Her latest book is So...You’re Having a Teenager: An A-Z of adolescence. Sarah also co-presents the Full Catastrophe a storytelling event and podcast.
Rebecca Huntley (Australian)
Rebecca Huntley is a researcher, writer and broadcaster. She presents The History Listen on ABC Radio National and writes for ABC Life. She heads Vox Populi Research. She is on the Board of The Whitlam Institute and The Bell Shakespeare Company. Her next book on climate change is out in June 2020.
