R.A. Spratt is the enormously popular best selling author of series The Peski Kids, Friday Barnes and Nanny Piggins series. Her action packed books, poignantly observed characters and razor sharp dialogue are influenced by her long career as a television writer. And her background as a stand-up comic shines through in her spectacular author presentations.

Oliver Phommavanh (Australian)

Oliver Phommavanh loves to make people laugh, whether it's on the page writing humour for kids or on stage as a stand-up comedian. A former primary school teacher, Oliver is also an author ambassador for charities, Room to Read and the NSW Premier's Reading Challenge. Oliver's books include Thai-riffic!, Con-nerd, The Other Christy and his latest, Natural Born Loser. Oliver's next book is Don't Follow Vee, out in May, 2019.

Deborah Abela (Australian)

After becoming a teacher, Deb went to Africa where she was caught in a desert sandstorm, harassed by monkeys and thrown in jail twice! She's since written twenty-six books including the Max Remy series and her climate change trilogy, Grimsdon, New City and Final Storm. Her dad's migration to Australia after WW2 inspired Teresa: A New Australian and her latest books are The Stupendously Spectacular Spelling Bee and The Most Marvellous Spelling Bee Mystery. Her first picture book is Wolfie, An Unlikely Hero.

Sally Rippin (Australian)

Sally Rippin is Australia's highest-selling female author. She has published over 70 books for children, including two novels for young adults, and her Billie B Brown series has sold over 4.5 million books in 14 languages. Sally is a passionate ambassador for the 100 Story Building centre for young writers and has a regular radio program on 3RRR interviewing industry professionals. Her most recent novel is The Search for the Silver Witch, the final instalment in the highly-acclaimed Polly and Buster trilogy.

Adrian Beck (Australian)

Adrian Beck writes funny, action-packed stories for kids. Adrian produces the TV show, Kids' WB, and has also worked on The Logies, Carols by Candlelight, Prank Patrol and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. Adrian is the author of the Champion Charlies series and Stuff Happens: Dale plus he co-wrote the Kick it to Nick series with AFL legend Shane Crawford. Adrian is the co-editor of Total Quack Up, along with Sally Rippin, his podcast co-host of The KidLit Club.

Carl Smith (Australian)

Carl Smith is a science nerd/reporter at ABC Science, who also co-hosts the kids’ podcasts Short & Curly, and Pickle. He’s made documentaries, presented the ABCTV series Minibeast Heroes, and was a reporter on ABCME’s Behind the News, a role which found him interviewing the head of NASA, reporting from inside a nuclear reactor, and dressing up as Batman!
