Carla Guelfenbein (International)
Carla Guelfenbein was born in Santiago, Chile. She studied biology at Essex University, specialising in population genetics. She studied graphic design at St. Martin’s School of Art, London. She was Art director in BBDO, and ELLE magazine Chile. She is the author of the novels El revés del alma, La mujer de mi vida, The Rest is Silence, Nadar desnudas, Contigo en la distancia, Llévame al cielo, and La estación de las mujeres. Her work has been translated into 16 languages. In the Distance with You won the prestigious Alfaguara Price. In the Distance with You was called "subtle, clearsighted and compassionate by JM Coetzee.
Alice Grundy (Australian)
Alice Grundy is Associate Publisher at Brio and co-founder of Seizure, a launchpad for Australian writing. For the past decade she has worked in trade publishing and has presented at festivals and conferences in Australia, India and China.
