In this uplifting talk, prolific illustrator and children’s book author Andrew Joyner explains how seeing the global Women’s March motivated him to create his latest book, The Pink Hat. It follows the journey of a stray hat that makes its way from a knitting basket to the head of a young girl marching for equality. The creator of the Boris book series and illustrator of The Terrible Plop also draws live on stage to illuminate his inspiring story. Rec. 3+.

Andrew Joyner is an Australian illustrator and author whose work has been published in more than 25 countries. He has illustrated numerous picture books, including The Terrible Plop by Ursula Dubosarsky and The Swap by Jan Ormerod, and has created his own chapter book series about Boris, an adventurous warthog. His latest book, The Pink Hat, is his authorial picture book debut, and is about a young girl, a pink hat, and the Women's March.
