Eddie Ayres joins writer and musician Kate Fagan to discuss his remarkable life in music, and travels that have seen him cycle across the remote Taklamakan Desert in China, teach double bass in Afghanistan and play viola in the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. Eddie was previously known as Emma Ayres, and was host of ABC Classic FM’s breakfast program from 2008 to 2014. Expect a rich discussion of music, adventure, gender and transformation, as revealed in his new book, Danger Music. Eddie now hosts ABC RN’s The Art Hub.

Presented with Varuna, the National Writers’ House.
