Poet and writer Jenny Zhang was born in Shanghai and grew up in New York. She has published a collection of poetry, Dear Jenny, We Are All Find, the essay, Hags, and has written extensively for Rookie. Her short-story collection Sour Heart is the first book published by Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner’s Lenny Books imprint in 2017 and was described in The New Yorker as "obscene, beautiful, moving" and "astounding". Jenny Zhang is the author of the short story collection Sour Heart, the poetry collection Dear Jenny, We Are All Find, and the e-book, The Selected Jenny Zhang. Her writing has appeared in the New York Times, N+1, Harper's, Poetry, New York Magazine and elsewhere. Her essay, "How It Feels" was nominated for a National Magazine Award. She holds degrees from Stanford University and the Iowa Writers' Workshop. She was born in Shanghai and grew up in New York City, where she currently resides.
