Rocket Readings is a lively poetry event that has become iconic in Wollongong. This annual event is presented by Linda Godfrey and features Evelyn Araluen and Garry McDougall. All poets are welcome to take advantage of the open mic. Mingle with the poets over tea and coffee afterwards.
Entry is $5. All proceeds to South Coast Writers Centre's Indigenous program. Tickets available at the door.

Evelyn Araluen (Australian)
Evelyn Araluen is a poet, teacher and researcher working with Indigenous literatures at the University of Sydney. She has written poetry and criticism for a range of publications, including Overland and Southerly. In 2017 she won the Nakata Brophy Award for Young Indigenous Writers, and in 2018 won the Judith Wright Poetry Prize. Born and raised on the Dharug lands of Western Sydney, she is a descendant of the Bundjalung nation.
Linda Godfrey (Australian)
Linda Godfrey is a poet, writer, editor and program manager of the Wollongong Writers Festival. Curator of Rocket Readings, readings of poetry and an open mic, part of the Sydney Writers' Festival and Wollongong Writers Festival. Series editor of microliterature anthologies, reader, manuscript assessor, teacher, judge. Fiction and poetry has appeared in journals and anthologies.
