Experienced podcasters and radio producers Heidi Pett and Jess O’Callaghan will guide you through the process of planning, drafting, recording and producing your writing in a way that’s designed to be listened to. In this hands on workshop they’ll analyse what works best in your headphones, and have you well on your way to your first episode.

Heidi Pett (Australian)

Heidi Pett is a journalist and radio producer, currently working for RN Breakfast and Australian Story. She’s made documentaries for Background Briefing and All The Best where she was co-executive producer. She’s reported stories for ABC Radio’s AM, PM and The World Today, and Triple J’s Hack, and was the presenter and executive producer of FBi Radio’s Backchat for four years.

Jess O’Callaghan (Australian)

Jess O’Callaghan produces The Party Room with Fran Kelly and Patricia Karvelas – RN’s weekly podcast discussing the winners, losers, voter issues, and gossip from the corridors of Parliament House. She also produces radio and social media for RN Drive. Jess was previously the co-executive producer of All The Best, and the producer of the Rereaders podcast. Her writing and radio has appeared on the Meanjin podcast, Right Now, Something You Said, AWOL and Junkee.
