School Days is a fantastic opportunity for students to engage with their favourite authors, discover exciting new voices and be inspired in a fun, educational and interactive day.

SESSIONS:

10.00am: WHAT A CHARACTER

Award-winning British author and illustrator, Lauren Child talks about the inspiration for each of her best-selling series and how she creates her amazing stories and characters. Prepare to enter the worlds of Ruby Redfort, Clarice Bean and Charlie and Lola!

10:45am: COMPULSIVE CREATIVITY

Matt Stanton takes you through a funny and energetic exploration of storytelling, illustration and creativity. In this highly interactive session, Matt, who is a compulsive cartoonist, invites students to help him create stories and characters, showing them why they have no reason to fear the blank page.

11:30am: Lunch Break and Book Signings

12:30pm: FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS

Award-winning author Kate DiCamillo gives students an early lesson on the power of perseverance and describes her own path to becoming a published author. Kate opens up about how fear kept her from following her dreams for ten years, as well as the countless rejections before she got her first book published.

1:15pm: DANGER AHEAD

Jack Heath, author of action-packed thrillers in which the reader chooses the ending, reveals the secrets behind writing a fast-paced and unpredictable adventure. The story of Jack's strange life will make you laugh and think.

2:00pm: Finish and Book Signings
