Lauded journalist and photographer Andrew Quilty shares the stories and striking images from his debut book, August in Kabul, a first-hand account of America’s last days in Afghanistan. In this in-conversation event, Andrew will share the images taken and events witnessed as one of only a handful of Western journalists who remained in Kabul as the city fell, marking the end of a 20-year-long conflict between the US and Afghanistan. Andrew is the recipient of nine Walkley Awards, including the Gold Walkley, for his work on Afghanistan, where he was based between 2013 and 2022.
