Ita Buttrose is a legendary media editor, businesswoman, best-selling author and committed community and welfare contributor. She was the founding editor of Cleo, the youngest-ever editor of The Australian Women's Weekly and was the first woman to edit a major metropolitan newspaper in Australia, as editor-in-chief of both the Daily and Sunday Telegraphs. Ita was the 2013 Australian of the Year and currently co-hosts Studio 10 on Network TEN. She is National Ambassador of Alzheimer’s Australia, patron of the Macular Disease Foundation and Emeritus Director of Arthritis Australia. In 2014 Macquarie University conferred an Honorary Doctor of Letters on Ita in recognition of her contribution to the arts. In 2015, Ita was conferred an Honorary Doctor of Letters by the University of Wollongong, for her contribution to mental health and ageing.
