Hugh Mackay is Australia's leading social researcher and a prolific author. Selling the Dream, a wacky satire set in an ad agency, is his 18th book and seventh novel. Hugh's research career spans 60 years, including 25 years as a weekly newspaper columnist. In recognition of his unique contribution to Australian social research, he has been awarded honorary doctorates by Charles Sturt, Macquarie, NSW, Western Sydney and Wollongong universities. In 2015, he was appointed an officer (AO) of the Order of Australia.
