This year’s Festival celebrates the strength and creativity of women with a range of writers and thinkers exploring what it is to be a woman. As part of this focus, SWF 2013 welcomes London's Southbank Centre’s WOW – Women of the World Festival to Sydney.
Originated by London’s Southbank Centre, the UK’s largest arts centre, WOW – Women of the World Festival celebrates women’s achievements and discusses the obstacles that prevent them from achieving their full potential and contributing to the world. Led by Southbank Centre Artistic Director Jude Kelly, WOW is a global festival that presents the very best of recognised and emerging female talent across all fields raising their voices for gender equality. The inaugural WOW at Sydney Writers’ Festival offers a WOW taster with seven events, including a mass speed mentoring session [Speed Mentoring: 196] – thought to be the largest of its kind in Australia – offering women a chance to discuss their career and life challenges with leading women from across all fields.
